Sustain Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and collaborative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's inclusive and successful team. This full-time mechanical design engineering role is based in Cambridge and offers an attractive salary.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will contribute to new product development and product improvement. You will also support existing products through problem solving and continual product improvement, including QC and testing pre-production batches. Please note, this position would suit someone with a Bachelor or higher degree in mechanical engineering degree.

In your first few weeks in this Mechanical Design Engineer role, you can expect to undertake:

  • New product development from conceptual to production design

  • Create and maintain technical design files, eg Drawings, specifications and Bills Of Materials

  • Participate in testing and certifications for new products or markets

To apply for this Mechanical Design Engineer role, you will need a Bachelor or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject. You will also require:

  • A solid understanding of the product development process, with a minimum of 5 years of design experience, preferably in sheet metal fabrication, extrusion and high-volume manufacturing

  • Demonstrable industry experience in CAD modelling, preferably ProE/Creo
