Sustain Recruitment is seeking an experienced and collaborative Design Engineer to join a rapidly growing renewable energy development company based in Kings Cross, London, specialising in key technologies such as Ground Mount Solar, battery storage, Electric Vehicle Charging, Hydrogen and sustainable land development. This full-time Design Engineer role is based in London and offers a salary of £60,000 p/a and excellent benefits.
As a Design Engineer, you will develop detailed designs for renewable energy systems focusing on Ground Mount Solar and BESS, considering energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact. You will also optimise existing renewable energy system designs to enhance performance and reliability.
In your first few weeks in this Design Engineer role, you can expect to:
- Develop detailed designs for renewable energy systems with a particular focus on Ground Mount Solar and BESS, considering factors such as energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact
- Stay current with advancements in renewable energy technologies and evaluate their applicability to the company's project requirements
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of implementing new technologies
To apply for this Design Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience designing renewable energy systems within the UK market, with expertise in Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, or other relevant technologies such as EV and Hydrogen systems
- Demonstrable knowledge of the UK energy market and regulatory landscape and proficiency in design and simulation software such as PVSol, PVSyst, AutoCAD, PSCAD, Matlab or equivalent
