While much of the work will be mechanical (engines, plant, CHP systems), you will also take ownership of electrical tasks such as wiring, control panels, diagnostics and repairs. You will be the point of expertise for electrical issues, supporting sites across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on CHP engines, generators and auxiliary equipment.
- Take responsibility for electrical tasks, including fault finding, wiring, panel work, and electrical installations/repairs.
- Provide technical support to colleagues on electrical issues.
- Travel to sites nationwide as required (with van, tools and expenses provided).
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety procedures and company standards.
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
About You
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience ideally with engines, generators, CHP, plant, compressors or rotating equipment.
- Proven electrical skills such as panel wiring, diagnostics, installations and repairs.
- 17th / 18th Edition qualification desirable.
- NVQ / apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-skilled Engineering.
- Flexible, hands-on, and happy to travel nationwide.
- Excellent problem-solving ability and a proactive approach.
