What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate and maintain gas engines on landfill power generation sites
- Conduct fault finding and reactive maintenance
- Perform routine servicing and minor overhauls
- Carry out daily checks and performance reporting
- Liaise with the wider team and support engine uptime
- Take part in a 1-in-5 on-call rota once the team is fully staffed
- Travel between sites (travel time paid); occasional overnight stays for major overhauls
Essential:
- Mechanical background (e.g. engines, plant, automotive, HGV, generators)
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to travel and work flexibly (this isn’t a 9-5)
- Experience with reciprocating engines in power gen, CHP or AD
- Ex-forces or self-employed mechanics with strong initiative
- Passion for engines, many in the team are hobbyist car enthusiasts
- £40k–£45k base salary (DOE); entry-level starts considered
- Overtime paid after 45 hours/week
